Eugene, Oregon · Full-stack software engineer

Software that ships —
web, mobile, and games.

I'm Jackson Feist. I turn early-stage ideas into production software — currently engineering web products at Cemental Software, previously founder and lead developer of the game studio Inorganic Games. I take on a small number of consulting projects for clients who need something built well, end to end.

  • 3 commercial game launches
  • 5,000+ app downloads
  • 1,500 opportunities scraped weekly for one client platform
  • 2 internship programs run, mentoring teams of up to 9

Secure Fields for Jira — field-level security for regulated teams

Atlassian Forge · Product build

Secure Fields for Jira

A field-level security app for regulated Jira teams — healthcare, finance, legal. Values entered through Secure Fields never sit in Jira's data layer: they live in Forge storage on Atlassian's platform and render only for authorized groups and project roles. REST, JQL, and CSV export see only a marker token, and every read and write is checked server-side, deny by default.

Designed, built, and verified solo — from threat-model docs and write-vector test suites to Marketplace listing prep.

Purrfect Alchemy — wave survival game by Inorganic Games

Founder · Game studio

Inorganic Games

I founded and ran an independent game studio for two years: three commercial launches, end-to-end production, marketing, and post-launch support. I designed and ran two 12-week internship programs, mentoring teams of up to nine developers through complete release cycles — including Purrfect Alchemy, a local multiplayer wave-survival game shipped on Steam.

The studio now builds playable ads for mobile user-acquisition teams — real gameplay engineered to convert, not templates.

Client work · Web platform

Boon.art

A platform that helps artists discover tailored grants, residencies, and exhibition open calls. I architected and built it for a nonprofit client — Next.js, TypeScript, and SQL, with a custom web-scraping pipeline that automates the collection of roughly 1,500 opportunities every week, plus advanced filtering and calendar sync.

MAN_HUNT — multiplayer location-tracking game

Mobile · Commercial release

MAN_HUNT

A multiplayer location-tracking game that turns real-life tag into an app. Built with React Native and Firebase: real-time location sync, database integration, and user authentication. Reached 5,000+ downloads after launch on the App Store.

About

I'm an engineer with a business degree — which in practice means I care as much about whether software is worth building as whether it's built well. I studied entrepreneurship and marketing at the University of Oregon with a minor in computer information technology, and I've spent the years since founding, leading, and shipping: a game studio, client platforms, mobile apps, and production healthcare software.

I've led teams of ten, mentored two cohorts of interns through complete development cycles, and worked professionally in Spanish during a stint in Madrid. I'm based in Eugene, Oregon, and I work with clients anywhere.
